The 26 Best Late-Night Happy Hours in Chicago (September 2026)

26 Chicago happy hours that run past 9 PM. Reverse happy hours, $1 wings, $1 oysters, and deals that go until 3 AM. By neighborhood, with real prices.

By Dinesaur Editorial · Updated September 3, 2026 · 10 min read

La Josie in Chicago
The short version: Only about 3.5% of Chicago happy hours run past 9 PM, so the late-night list is short. There are 26 spots citywide. These are the ones worth planning around, organized by neighborhood, with what the deal actually is and how late it actually goes.

It's still hot. You know it's still hot. You've spent the last three weeks doing the Chicago summer shuffle where you calculate whether the walk to the train is worth it, and the answer keeps being no.

So stop fighting it. The good news about a city that stays warm into September is that it also stays warm at 10 PM. The difference is that at 10 PM there's a breeze off the lake, the patios have thinned out, and nobody is standing in a forty-minute line for a table. Late is the correct time to be outside right now.

The better news is that a small, stubborn group of Chicago restaurants runs their happy hour then. Some of them do it backwards, starting the deal at 8, 9, or even 10 PM, long after everyone else has flipped back to full price. Others just keep the discount going until close. Either way, it's the same drink and the same food for meaningfully less money, at the exact hour the city is finally pleasant.

Here's why the list is short: Illinois caps discounted drink service at four hours a day and fifteen hours a week, so most restaurants spend that budget on the after-work rush and end at 6 PM. Three quarters of Chicago happy hours are done by then. The places below decided to spend it differently.

How we picked these

We pulled all 1,755 active happy hour campaigns in Chicago, across 345 restaurants, and kept the ones that either start at 8 PM or later or run until 9 PM or later. That's 26 restaurants. Suburbs and Evanston are excluded; this is city only.

Everything was verified against current menus in September 2026. Times and prices move around constantly, especially late-night ones, so confirm before you commit to a 10 PM plan.

West Loop 7 PICKS

Seven of the 26 are here, which tracks. Fulton Market is the one neighborhood where the kitchens genuinely stay open and the sidewalk still has people on it at 11 PM.

Bandit happy hour

Bandit

The latest happy hour in Chicago, and it isn't close. Bandit runs its deal Friday and Saturday from 9 PM until 3 AM, which puts it in a category of one. It's a hip, loud, convivial bar doing elevated versions of bar food, and the kind of place that also does a serious brunch, which tells you the kitchen is real and not just reheating things at 2 AM. The move is dollar wings, which at that hour is less a deal than a public service. Everything else in the five-dollar tier, including mozzarella sticks, the Diplomat slider, and the spicy chicken slider, is designed for exactly the state of mind you'll be in.

  • Happy hour hours: Fri–Sat, 9 PM–3 AM
  • Offer highlights: 50% off Nashville hot chicken tenders, $1 wings, $5 sliders, $5 crispy mozz, $8 quesadilla, $4 Miller High Life, $6 Bandit rosé, $9 cocktails
  • Good to know: Six hours, twice a week. This is the only place on the list where you can get a discounted drink at 2:45 AM.

Kaiser Tiger happy hour

Kaiser Tiger

A bi-level gastropub with an enormous seasonal beer garden and a tap list long enough to require strategy. The late-night deal is a precision instrument: 10 to 11 PM, every single day of the week, no exceptions. That's the tightest window on this list and also the most consistent. You never have to check whether it's running tonight, because it always is. Two-dollar Belgian fries is the headline, and if you've been drinking in the beer garden since eight, they'll taste better than they have any right to.

  • Happy hour hours: Every day, 10–11 PM
  • Offer highlights: 45% off snacks including $2 Belgian fries, $9 popcorn chicken, $9 veggie quesadillas, and $9 pretzel bites, plus $5 house drafts and $9 margaritas
  • Good to know: One hour, seven days. Set a reminder at 9:55.

Trino Steakhouse happy hour

Trino Steakhouse

A steakhouse that isn't really behaving like one, with Galician, Mexican, and Argentinian influences running through the whole menu and a bar that stays lively long after the dining room has calmed down. The late deal runs Friday and Saturday from 10 PM to 12:30 AM, which makes this one of the very few places in Chicago where you can order a wagyu steak taco at midnight for six dollars. Papas fritas and lamb empanadas at eight round it out, and the wine is six dollars a glass across white, rosé, and red.

  • Happy hour hours: Fri–Sat, 10 PM–12:30 AM
  • Offer highlights: $6 wagyu steak taco, $8 papas fritas, $8 lamb empanada, $6 wine (white, rosé, or red), $9 Patio Verde, $9 sangria roja
  • Good to know: Weekend only. Trino also runs a 20%-off-the-full-check offer through Dinesaur if you're going earlier.

The Izakaya happy hour

The Izakaya

The subterranean pub underneath Momotaro, built specifically for the part of the night after dinner has ended. Sleek, dark, and genuinely a bar rather than a restaurant with a bar attached. Monday from 8 to 10 PM the sashimi goes to half price, which is the single best raw-fish value on this list. Monday is also exactly the night you'd otherwise be at home. Hamachi, edamame, and sake all land at five dollars, and the temaki gold is three.

  • Happy hour hours: Mon, 8–10 PM
  • Offer highlights: 50% off sashimi, $3 temaki gold, $5 hamachi, $5 edamame, $5 sake, $6 Asahi and Sapporo, $12 Haku highball
  • Good to know: 4.8 rating, and Mondays only. Downstairs entrance.

Bocaditos happy hour

Bocaditos

An easygoing Mexican spot where the late-night window is small and specific: 8:30 to 9:30 PM, five nights a week including Sunday. One hour, which means this is a destination rather than a place you drift into. Worth it for two-dollar oysters and five-dollar tacos in pollo or pork belly, plus mezcalitas that are the actual point of the room. The aguachiles discount is the headline but the tacos are the better math.

  • Happy hour hours: Mon–Thu and Sun, 8:30–9:30 PM
  • Offer highlights: 25% off aguachiles, $2 oysters, $5 chips and salsa, $5 tacos (pollo or pork belly), $10 chicken croquettes, $5 beer, $8 tequila shots, $10 Aperol spritz
  • Good to know: Exactly one hour. Includes Sunday, which is rare.

La Josie happy hour

La Josie

Jalisco cooking across three bars, one of which is on the roof, and in September that rooftop is the entire argument. The deal runs Monday, Tuesday, and Sunday until 10 PM, structured as two different things: Tardeadas with six-dollar tacos and five-dollar beer, and a Taco Tuesday that gets you two tacos for fourteen. Cebollitas and chiles toreados at four dollars are the snacks you order without thinking about it.

  • Happy hour hours: Mon, Tue, and Sun, 6–10 PM
  • Offer highlights: Taco Tuesday $14 for two tacos; Tardeadas $6 tacos and $5 beer; $4 cebollitas and chiles toreados, $5 elote mexicano, $6 cochinita pibil, $8 michelada
  • Good to know: Rooftop is weather-dependent and fills up. Go now, not in November.

LÝRA happy hour

LÝRA

Modern Greek in Fulton Market, airy and stylish in a way that photographs well and holds up in person. Sunday is a ten-hour happy hour, noon to 10 PM, which is less a deal window than a lifestyle. Two-dollar oysters throughout, seven-dollar wagyu beef meatballs and chicken souvlaki, and a mezze run of tzatziki, charred eggplant, and spicy feta all at seven. The nine-dollar martini at 9 PM on a Sunday is a quietly excellent way to refuse to acknowledge Monday.

  • Happy hour hours: Sun, 12–10 PM
  • Offer highlights: $7 wagyu beef meatballs and chicken souvlaki, $2 oysters, $7 tzatziki, $7 charred eggplant, $7 spicy feta, $9 house wine, $9 classic martini, $9 espresso martini
  • Good to know: Ten hours, one day. The longest single window on this list.

River North 6 PICKS

Six here, and they split cleanly between proper reverse happy hours and Sunday deals that just refuse to stop.

Bar Sotano happy hour

Bar Sotano

The agave bar tucked below Frontera, doing regional Mexican cooking and a mezcal list that rewards asking questions. Wednesday is the night: the deal runs from 5 PM straight through to 11 PM, six unbroken hours, with dollar oysters the whole time. That's the longest continuous late window in River North and the cheapest oysters on this entire list. The fire fried chicken at eight dollars is the thing to order once you've had four.

  • Happy hour hours: Wed, 5–11 PM
  • Offer highlights: $1 freshly-shucked oysters, $7 dry aged beef albondigas, $7 pibil croquettes, $8 fire fried chicken, $4 Cerveza Victoria, $6 Del Maguey VIDA, $9 beer and shot
  • Good to know: Wednesday only, but six hours of it.

Ghost Donkey happy hour

Ghost Donkey

A small, dark, disco-ball-adjacent tequila and mezcal bar that feels like it was smuggled in from somewhere warmer. On Sundays the deal runs from 4 PM until midnight. That is eight hours, the longest late window in River North, with three-dollar tacos in chicken tinga or carne asada and 30% off quesadillas. The nachos here have a reputation that precedes them. Order a mezcal margarita at eight dollars and let the Sunday-night dread arrive whenever it wants.

  • Happy hour hours: Sun, 4 PM–midnight
  • Offer highlights: $3 tacos (chicken tinga or carne asada), 30% off quesadillas, $3 salsa, $6 guacamole, $9 chicken tinga quesadilla, $4 Modelo, $8 mezcal margarita, $8 Altos paloma

Nonnina happy hour

Nonnina

An upscale Italian room that runs a genuine reverse happy hour: 8 to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday, at the bar. This is the pre- or post-dinner play: you're not committing to a full Italian dinner, you're getting dollar oysters, nine-dollar parmesan fries, and a five-dollar "tiny tini" in a room significantly nicer than the price suggests. Meatball sliders at ten and cheeseburger sliders at twelve if you want it to become an actual meal.

  • Happy hour hours: Mon–Fri, 8–10:30 PM
  • Offer highlights: 30% off pork belly, 20% off pizzas, $1 oysters, $9 parmesan fries, $10 meatball sliders, $12 cheeseburger sliders, $5 tiny tinis, $9 wine by the glass
  • Good to know: Bar only. Five nights a week, two and a half hours each.

PLANTA Chicago happy hour

PLANTA Chicago

Entirely plant-based and considerably more fun than that sentence suggests. The sushi program in particular converts skeptics. From 8:30 to 10 PM Monday through Thursday, every handroll and nigiri drops to five dollars: ahi watermelon, unagi eggplant, spicy crab, spicy tuna, crispy mushroom. Five dollars for a handroll is competitive with places that use actual fish. The Hugo spritz at ten is the correct pairing and also the correct thing to be drinking in early September.

  • Happy hour hours: Mon–Thu, 8:30–10 PM
  • Offer highlights: $5 handrolls and nigiri across the board, $6 select beers, $7 spicy non-alcoholic "Not-A-Rita," $9 select wines, $10 Hugo spritz, $10 Mezcal Me Maybe
  • Good to know: Ninety minutes, four nights a week.

Roka Akor

The upscale robata-and-sushi room, running 40% off sushi on Mondays from 5 to 9 PM at the bar and on the patio. Chicken yakitori at eight, flame-seared salmon nigiri at ten, truffle fries at ten, and wine across the board at ten.

Lincoln Park 3 PICKS

Pour Decisions Chicago happy hour

Pour Decisions Chicago

A Lincoln Park bar and grill that leans hard into the "make this your Tuesday" pitch and mostly pulls it off. The deal runs Tuesday through Thursday from 4 PM to 11 PM, seven hours, which is the longest weeknight window on this list, and it rotates through three genuinely different offers: three-dollar tacos with five-dollar margaritas, twenty-dollar all-you-can-eat wings, and a ten-dollar burger with five-dollar drafts. Steak frites at fifteen if you want to pretend it's a real dinner.

  • Happy hour hours: Tue–Thu, 4–11 PM
  • Offer highlights: $3 tacos and $5 margaritas, $20 all-you-can-eat wings, $10 burger and $5 drafts, $15 steak frites

R.J. Grunts happy hour

R.J. Grunts

The Lettuce Entertain You original from 1971, famous for a salad bar that predates most of the people eating at it. The nostalgia is genuine and so is the deal: Thursday through Saturday from 8 to 10 PM, cocktails, wine, and beer all go to five dollars. Not "select cocktails." The dry gin martini, the dirty vodka martini, the cosmopolitan, the East Side, and the Hanky Panky are all included. A five-dollar martini in Lincoln Park on a Saturday night is close to an anomaly.

  • Happy hour hours: Thu–Sat, 8–10 PM
  • Offer highlights: $5 cocktails, wine, and beer, including dry gin martini, dirty vodka martini, cosmopolitan, East Side, and Hanky Panky
  • Good to know: Weekend nights included. Everything is five dollars, which simplifies the decision considerably.

Blue Sushi Sake Grill (Lincoln Park) happy hour

Blue Sushi Sake Grill (Lincoln Park)

Same nine-hour Sunday deal as the River North location, noon to 9 PM with up to 38% off sushi and maki, in a room that's a little more neighborhood and a little less scene. If you live north and don't want to deal with River North on a Sunday evening, this is the same math without the trip.

  • Happy hour hours: Sun, 12–9 PM
  • Offer highlights: Up to 38% off sushi and maki, $4 cucumber sunomono, $4 kombu miso soup, $5.25 edamame, $4.25 Kirin sake bomb, $5.50 Kirin draft, $5.50 nigori sake
  • Good to know: Identical deal to River North. Pick whichever is closer.

Two Monday-night bars running until midnight, which is the most Logan Square thing on this entire list.

Easy Does It happy hour

Easy Does It

A laid-back wine-and-beer bar with a large patio, which in the first week of September is the whole reason to go. Mondays the deal runs from 5 PM until 11:59 PM, effectively until close, with eight-dollar wine across the board and a Happy Negroni at the same price. There's also a three-dollar Miller High Life, which is the correct thing to be drinking on a patio at 10 PM when you're not trying to make an evening of it.

  • Happy hour hours: Mon, 5–11:59 PM
  • Offer highlights: $8 wine, $8 Happy Negroni, $8 Eric Bordelet pear juice, $3 Miller High Life, $4 Marz CBD seltzer

The Moonlighter happy hour

Six-dollar chicken bites in popcorn or buffalo form, seven-dollar loaded tots, and a two-dollar High Life can that is, dollar for dollar, the cheapest drink on this list. The frozen piña colada at eight is the one to get while it's still 85 degrees at sundown.

  • Happy hour hours: Mon, 5–11:59 PM
  • Offer highlights: $6 popcorn chicken, $6 buffalo chicken bites, $7 loaded tots, $2 High Life can, $4 Hidden Hands lager, $8 frozen piña colada

Bar Parisette happy hour

Bar Parisette

An unpretentious bistro doing steaks, burgers, oysters, and fries with actual technique behind them. Shake-frites at ten. A nine-dollar dirty martini in a room this nice is not a normal Monday.

  • Happy hour hours: Mon, 5–9:30 PM
  • Offer highlights: 20% off cheeseburger, $2 East Coast oysters, $6 marinated olives, $6 fried almonds, $8 smoked lake trout dip, $10 shake-frites, $6 Guinness, $8 wine, $9 dirty martini

The Loop 2 PICKS

Petterino's happy hour

Petterino's

The Theatre District institution: red booths, caricatures of Chicago personalities on every wall, and a bar that has absorbed sixty years of pre-show nerves and post-show opinions. It's also the only Loop restaurant running a real reverse happy hour: 8 to 10 PM, Monday through Friday. That's the window right as the curtain comes down, which is obviously deliberate. Dollar oysters, a six-dollar mini pizza, and six-dollar drafts, in a room that feels like old Chicago because it is.

  • Happy hour hours: Mon–Fri, 8–10 PM
  • Offer highlights: $1 oysters, $6 mini pizza, $6 Blue Point oysters (6), $8 mozzarella sticks, $8 basket of fries, $12 chicken wings, $6 draft beer, $9 select wines, $9 well cocktails
  • Good to know: Petterino's also runs a 2–10 PM weekday window, so the deal is effectively available all afternoon and evening.

Prime & Provisions happy hour

A sprawling luxe steakhouse with marble bars and a cigar patio, running a Sunday deal from 4 to 9 PM at the bar. Half off lobster rolls and the cheesesteak is the headline, and $1.50 oysters is the number that makes it worth the walk. Three petite dry-aged cheeseburgers for twelve dollars is the sleeper order. Twelve-dollar martinis, which at a steakhouse of this tier is essentially wholesale.

  • Happy hour hours: Sun, 4–9 PM
  • Offer highlights: 50% off lobster rolls and cheesesteak, $1.50 oysters, $7 prime chili, $7 house-cut potato chips, $12 petite dry-aged cheeseburgers (3), $12 fried chicken sliders (3), $12 martinis

Brasero, West Town happy hour

Brasero, West Town

Chef John Manion's South American live-fire restaurant, and one of the best-rated rooms on this list at 4.7. Sunday from 5 to 9 PM the tuna crudo goes 46% off, but the thing to know is that the grilled oysters are three dollars and the head-on prawns are five. Crispy papas at eight, crispy Mediterranean snapper at thirteen. This is the entry that's least like a "late-night deal" and most like getting a genuinely excellent dinner for meaningfully less.

  • Happy hour hours: Sun, 5–9 PM
  • Offer highlights: 46% off tuna crudo, $3 grilled oyster, $5 head-on prawn, $8 crispy papas, $12 La Sirena kale salad, $13 crispy Mediterranean snapper, $7 draft beer, $11 Brasero sangria
